Enjoy fine wine, delicious bites and live music at Park Hyatt Aviara
[Santa Barbara, CA] – The California Wine Festival, the premier event producer of the Southern California Wine Festival, is delighted to return to Park Hyatt Aviara in Carlsbad on Friday May 29 and Saturday May 30 with nearly 200 wines from over 60 wineries , 30 of San Diego County’s fine dining restaurants, gourmet food vendors, shows, and lifestyle exhibitors in a stunning outdoor setting.
Guests are invited to an elegant Sunset Rare & Reserve Tasting on Friday, May 29 to sample fine wines and appetizers with ocean views at the Palm Courtyard at Park Hyatt Aviara Resort Golf Club & Spa. The VIP event for wine lovers begins with a champagne reception followed by an evening of rare and reserve wine tasting under the stars. On Saturday, May 30, the wine tasting experience continues with the Beachside Wine Festival at Heron Lawn at Park Hyatt Aviara Resort overlooking lush hills and the sparkling Pacific Ocean beyond.

The two-day wine festival features fan favorite pours and reserves vintages from over 60 major wineries in the state. Alma Rosa Winery will taste delicious, handcrafted wines in small batches from their organic vineyard in Santa Rita Hills. The limestone vineyards of Paso Robles will serve handcrafted red wines of distinctiveness, deep depth and sense of place that will impress the most discerning palate. Carol Shelton, the iconic winemaker’s eponymous vineyard, will serve Zinfandels from old, handcrafted vines and award-winning wines. The Clif Family Winery in Napa Valley will serve sustainably produced, food-friendly small-production wines crafted with little intervention for true expression of grape character. Another Napa Valley favorite, Old Acre Wines, will offer exceptional artisanal wine tastes from a single vineyard passionately handcrafted from exquisite Napa Valley grapes. Unlimited tastes of almost any wine type will be available for customers to experience unique and delicious wines from all of California’s distinct wine regions.
The California Wine Festival also highlights culinary education through rare one-on-one conversations with world-class professional chefs serving free gourmet appetizers. Park Hyatt Aviara’s star chefs, executive chef Pierre Albaladejo and executive pastry chef Christophe Rull Park will present a flight of flavors featuring the resort’s exceptional culinary team. Chef Albaladejo’s passion lies in inspiring and creating new dishes with an emphasis on the use of fresh, local produce and respecting each ingredient to maximize taste. Pastry chef Rull has received numerous awards for his elaborate presentations, specializing in the art of sugar and chocolate pieces.
While pairing wine with samples of artisan cheeses, rustic bread, rich olive oil, decadent chocolates, freshly cut fruit and more, guests can listen to live music and take in the views over the beautiful California coastal landscape. The Rare & Reserve Tasting Friday features live performances by Kalina & Kiana, a singer-songwriter duo known throughout the state for their beautiful melodies. Upstream, SoCal’s premier reggae, calypso, soca and steel drum group will perform at the Beachside Wine Festival on Saturday.
Proceeds from the California Wine Festival Carlsbad auctions benefit Golden Rule Charity, an organization dedicated to serving the needs of hospitality workers in times of crisis and with joy.
