Oliver Winery & Vineyards in Bloomington has appointed Robert Warren Director of Winemaking. Warren joins the winery after serving 14 years as Director of Winemaking at Cooper’s Hawk Winery & Restaurants.

He succeeds Dennis Dunham, who also serves as vice president of operations and plans to retire after 25 years with Oliver.

“Oliver has been built on an incredible foundation, and I’m looking forward to the opportunity to not only continue that vision, but grow it,” Warren said. “I am excited to apply my knowledge of winemaking from around the world and grow and innovate the wine program that has pioneered the sweet wine industry for decades.”

Warren will oversee winery and winemaking operations, sourcing, winery relations and Oliver’s winemaking process. The winery says Pete Batule was recently promoted to director of winery operations and will work closely with Warren.

The winery announced more than a dozen new hires last year, including chief financial officer Jon Black, business analyst and demand planning manager Andy Gresho and vineyard manager Laura Cleary.
