Wine and Olive Oil Tasting organized by Hermes Expo at Ktima Anagennisis, Nemea
The Anagennisi (Renaissance) Estate and its vineyards are located near ancient Nemea (Nemea Valley) in the Peloponnese, Greece. The historical region is not only famous for its ancient games, Nemea, or the Nemean lion from the labors of Hercules, but also for the great production of Greek PDO wines. The main variety grown in the vineyards of Nemea is the famous Agiorgitiko which is used for the production of the distinctive red wine.
We had the pleasure of attending a fabulous tasting flight otherwise known as wine tasting. Mr. Tasos Xydis, the owner, welcomed us to his winery and introduced us to the production process of his excellent wine varieties.
Wine with the best fruit, hard work, longer aging, latest technology and viticultural expertise along with other lavish practices that lead to the rich, complex, luxurious and distinctive wines of Domaine Anagennisi Winery.
We also had the privilege of admiring the cellar’s personal museum of sculptures and mosaics, with the excellent works of art, made by the owner himself.
Combined with the wine tasting, was the olive oil tasting by Oleosophia – the Manginas family, Marianna and Giorgos.
An eye-opening educational experience, with in-depth information on the philosophy of olive oil and the olive milling process. A tasty and aromatic taste experience.
We spoiled our senses with a unique Greek dining experience, delicious Giouvetsi, Chorta, Salads, each plate complemented with the right varieties of wine and olive oil.
